Stuck at home or don’t have enough time to go to the gym? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. As things start to pick up, and people are getting busier, it can be tough to squeeze in a gym session. Thankfully, you can get your body moving anywhere. Any movement counts, even if it’s for 5 minutes. Let’s get you up and active! We’ll list a few ways to get your body moving.

Get outside for a walk or bike ride.

It’s as simple as walking around the block or your neighborhood. It can be for 5 to 30 minutes, as long as you’re out and about, you’re getting your body moving. You can start off small and work your way up. A nice brisk walk burns more calories than a leisurely stroll, so pick up the pace if you can.

When you’re on the phone, walk around the house.

Thankfully, cell phones have evolved significantly. If you’re glued to your phone for work, you don’t need to be glued to a chair or couch. When you’re on a work call or chatting with an old friend, you can find yourself zoning out much of the time. Instead of sitting on the couch or laying in bed, let’s get those legs moving! 

Take the stairs.

Every chance you get, you should think about taking the stairs. Of course, if it’s 10 flights of stairs, maybe take that into consideration, but otherwise, it’s a simple way to get your legs moving and your blood pumping. Either way, you still need to get to the same floor level, so why not make it a small workout while you’re at it? 

Do some chores.

Chores can be dreadful, and so can working out. So why not knock them both out at once? Put on some music and get to it. Moping, sweeping, scrubbing the tub, these are all great ways to get your arm muscles activated.

Stand when you can.

If you’re able to, turn your desk into a standing desk. Even if it’s only for 30 minutes a day, it can add up and in no-time you’ll be standing for hours while working. Standing burns calories and is probably the easiest exercise without even noticing it. Why not add a few squats and calf raises while you’re at it?

Park far away.

Going to the grocery store or looking for a new outfit? Don’t waste time driving in circles trying to find a parking spot in the front. Park towards the back of the parking lot and get those extra steps in. Plus, there’s typically less cars around that could ding your door and if it’s busy, you can easily exit the parking lot.
